What are the Academy Events about?
Activities organised by the Academy foster the knowledge management in AEGEE. By means of various training events, the Academy strives to transfer skills, knowledge and experience to the next generations of AEGEE members. The events focus on a choice of themes and topics, including Project Management, Public Relations, Fund Raising and others. Participants of the trainings get the opportunity to understand the mechanisms on basis of which AEGEE and other NGO’s operate.
Various training methods, including case studies, workshops and other interactive assignments, create the perfect environment for fast knowledge absorption among the trainees.
Our internal education activities are dedicated to motivated AEGEE members who wish to understand the nature of AEGEE and the nature of European integration and co-operation. Participation in out trainings gives them a chance to meet people with various cultural backgrounds, work on their self-development, tackle challenging tasks together with them, face and solve the usual small conflicts and misunderstandings and, by that, gain new friends from all over Europe.
Events offered by the Academy:
Local/Regional training events
- LTC (Local Training Course)
Short training courses (usually 1-3 days) with a specific theme or aim. For example: fundraising or project management. These events are organized by locals (local departments of AEGEE) and are specifically for the mebers of that local.
- RTC (Regional Training Course)
Similar to the LTC but takes the form of a cooperation between several locals in one region.
General European Schools
Thematically focused European Schools
Furthermore we have European Schools that have a specific thematic focus. These one week training courses provide participants with all the needed knowledge in that specific area. For example; during the Fundraising European School (FRES) participants learn all the ins and outs of corporate fundraising, applying for grants, managing funds, creating FR plans and all other stuff they need to know in order to design, implement and evaluate a successful fundraising strategy.
- PRES (Public Relations European School)
- ITES (Information Technology European School)
- FRES (FundRaising European School)
- HRES (Human Resources European School)
- SUPS (Summer University Project School)
- ESE (European School of Entrepreneurship)
Self-development European Schools
Further education for staff members
- Workshops and Meetings at Statutory Meetings
All activities are organised by the Academy with the support of local branches of AEGEE, which host the events and take care of the logistics and fundraising.
