The latest newsopen call for host local of FRES2008-11-23Dear AEGEE locals! Here comes the moment for you!!! The next Fund Raising European School (the so-called FRES) of AEGEE-Academy is going to take place in October 2009. If your local would like to make this event remarkable, you are more than welcome to apply as the hosting local! @ A Fund-Raising European School is … An advanced training course of AEGEE - thematically focused on fund-raising. It aims at improving fund-raising and financial management skills of our network in the European level. It focuses on public and private funding. The target group of the FRES is young Europeans and enthusiastic AEGEE members who are already actively working on European actions, projects, working groups or motivated to be involved in next generation European actions, projects, working groups and willing to and in need of improving their fundraising and financial management capacity. The duration of the FRES will be 7-8 days to achieve its objectives. A concept development team is being formed who will work for the conceptualization of the training course. @ The role and responsibilities of the hosting local are… - Accommodation for approximately 25 participants and 4-5 full time and 4-5 guest trainers, preferably in a comfortable place with beds - 3 meals per day and coffee breaks - Taking care of the necessary logistics for the training programme (rooms for lectures, team work and staff members; technical equipment as well as computer facilities for the staff and participants if possible) - Preparing a lively and kicking social programme including a nice gala night with external partners - Providing the necessary documents (invitation letter) to those who need visa - Within the budget (if possible) reimbursing the trainers' travel costs (partially or totally) - Full cooperation in terms of fund-raising for the event itself from national and local sources (arranging some FR meetings before and during the event will be an asset) - Full cooperation and constant communication with the FRES manager and the AEGEE-Academy board @ What YOU will gain out of organizing a FRES? -A great learning experience for your members both in terms of organisational management as well as fund-raising - a great contribution to the FR experience and motivation of our members, our projects and actions in the European level and for the financial sustainability of our beloved association - great visibility in the eyes of your funders or donors at the local and national level - great visibility and promotion of your local in the AEGEE network, since all the participants - the future very active AEGEE members -and staff will remember the great job you did! The applications should contain: 1. your motivation for organising a FRES; 2. information about the local (e.g. number of active members, experience with organizing events, etc); 3. information on potential logistics (i.e. lodging, catering, rooms for lectures and simulations, the distances between the lodging place and rooms, copy facilities etc.); 4. Expected fee for approx. 25 participants 5. Possibilities of financing the event 6.
