During the previous month, Academy board worked hard for the coordination of internal education events and in this issue, you will be informed about the future events and will see the open calls for the upcoming events.You also have the change to read about TIGro meeting that Asia joined to improve the external cooperation.

1. New Member of the Academy

We would like to welcome Anna Katharina Gabriel, speaker of CWG and ex board member of AEGEE-Heildelberg who joined the Academy. We wish her success in her Academy life.

2. Minutes of Board Weekend

The Minutes of AEGEE-Academy Board Weekend is upload to the Academy website. If you are curious about the results, please check check the minutes of the meeting.

3 Future Events

Concept Development Meeting
We would like to inform you that Academy board, together with coordinators of the meeting, decided to change the dates of event in order to organise it in a better condition for its participants. The CDM is going to take place in Karlsruhe from the 10th to the 12th of November 2006. You may check the description description and apply before the 30th of September by sending an e-mail to academy-board-l@aegee.org and marylaw_gr@yahoo.gr.

European School 1 Odessa
The preparations for the event are in full swing. AEGEE-Odessa is in the challenge of providing the best environment for the training.The staff team of the event was selected.and we wish them a lot of success. We also have the pleasure to announce you that the European School 1 Preparation Meeting application which was submitted to German National Agency was approved.

Training of Trainers
We are happy to announce you that the next Training for Trainers will take place from the 9th to the 14th of January 2007 in Patra!

Public Relations European School 2 Pecs
Last month was a challenging period for Virag, Radu and AEGEE-Pecs members. After a hard work, 3 applications ( Youth, Visegrad and Hungary Foreign Affairs of Ministry ) were submitted in order to have financial support for the event. The staff team was selected this week. You will hear about staff team and open call for participants in the following days.

4. Open Calls

ES1 Manager
An open call for the manager of the next ES1 which is planned to take place in March 2007, was issued. If you think it's time to take on this task , check the information

ES1 Host Local
AEGEE-Academy needs is looking for a local lwhich is willing to contribute to the development of AEGEE by providing the necessary logistics for one of the basis of AEGEE's internal education, European School 1. If you want to know more about the requirements, just check the website Deadline for applications, is .

European School 2 Host Local
Next ES2 in Spring 2007 (preferably before Agora) is looking its place to be organised. If you want to host this event and make a step forward, please check the. information Send your application to academy-board-l@aegee.org and marylaw_gr@yahoo.gr before the 30th of September!

5. Meeting with TIGro

In the process of starting cooperation between AEGEE and BEST, Asia was invited to Eindhoven, to the summer meeting of BEST's TIGro (training interested group) - an equivalent of AEGEE Academy. The aim was to learn about each others trainig system, and the working methods inside the coordinating bodies.
It was understood that the structures of bodies and working method are very similar (the proces of planing the year and preparing a training) .Some differences one could spot: in BEST the amount of Train Shops (~ a bit shorter ESs) is higher, but the idea of local level training (~ like LTC) is not developed; also the 'summer meeting' (~ which is quite similar to Academy Board Weekend) is open to experienced and fresh members.

Asia gave a presentation about Academy. Together with Manu, BEST board member present there, she made a comparison table of both structures, which will be available on the Academy website, in database. Patrick Hanckmann, president of AEGEE-Eindhoven and fresh Academy member also joined some sessions with Asia. As the next step, Academy and BEST should find out the realistic ways to start closer cooperation

6.Academy Workshop at Agora-Napoli / Your Ideas

The Academy-board is asking all of you to give your support to the Academy board for the workshop that will be presented during Agora-Napoli. If you have a workshop idea or if you want to support the Academy workshop and contribute to its content, please share your ideas and interest until the 25th of September with us.
